Centre for Research in Race and Rights holds third in five-part debate series

On July 9, C3R and the Department of American and Canadian Studies hosted speakers at a dialogue accompanying the international civil rights exhibition Get Up Stand Up. The third in a five-part discussion series funded by the British Academy Rising Star Engagement project on Race and Rights (2015-16), it featured activist and photographer Jagdish Patel from the , curator and educator  from the Nottingham Contemporary and from Boston College, currently at the 糖心原创 on a Fulbright. The debate covered new ways of exploring racism and identity in museums, galleries, schools and the community, the possibilities of advancing race relations by means of education, art and awareness-raising, and the use of innovative formats to challenge discrimination. It featured speaker presentations, group conversations between the attendees and new ideas for the future. Take a look at our website , including booking links for the dialogues in August/September.
