Scott Moser is an Associate Professor in Politics who applies quantitative and formal methods to questions of collective choice, voting, and institutional design. Within the Rights Lab, his work centres on prevalence estimation — estimating the size of "hidden populations," such as those experiencing modern slavery — drawing on multiple quantitative methods and data sources, including surveys, NGO records, interviews, and administrative data. This has included collaboration with the International Justice Mission (IJM), including its work in the Philippines. His broader research uses game theory, social choice theory, and statistical modelling — including latent class models and Bayesian inference — to study collective decision-making, and his work has appeared in journals including Political Analysis, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, and Social Choice and Welfare.
