Current Research
Giulia's research agenda examines how gender shapes political representation, focusing on the relationship between political institutions, party strategies, and women's access to power. She studies the incentives party elites face when selecting candidates and how formal rules, including electoral systems and gender quota laws, shape those decisions. Her work explores how institutional reforms influence women's political engagement, opportunities to enter and advance in political office, and career trajectories. Methodologically, she combines quantitative research methods with laboratory and survey experiments and formal modeling.
