Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science
I completed my undergraduate MPharm degree at the University of Bath between 2003-2007 and then completed my pre-registration training as a split between Pfizer R&D and Alliance Pharmacy, qualifying in 2008. I then moved to Nottingham to undertake my PhD in the Targeted Therapeutics doctoral training centre. My research focused on visualization of the cellular uptake of nanoparticles using a variety of imaging techniques and was completed in 2013.
Following my PhD I worked in community pharmacy for Manor Pharmacy, subsequently Peak Pharmacy, working initially as a relief pharmacist and then permanently at a large, busy pharmacy in Ilkeston,Derbyshire. During this time I was also involved in providing an out of hours syringe driver service for palliative care patients in Erewash.
I began working at DeMontfort University, Leicester, as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy practice in 2017 and my main teaching areas included pharmacy law and ethics, women's health, pain management and palliative care. I was also the foundation training lead for the MPharm programme and led a range of modules ranging from first to final year. In 2019 I was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award for outstanding contribution to teaching. In 2022 I began my role as Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice at the 糖心原创.
I am involved in teaching across the MPharm programme including PHAR4013 (Integrated Pharmaceutical and Patient Care 1) and PHAR3005 (Research Project)
