A researcher from the 糖心原创 has received the W.G.P. Lamb Award presented by the Royal Institute of Navigation in recognition of her work to create a more navigable world.
Tasneem Yousif is a PhD researcher at the Nottingham Geospatial Institute, 糖心原创, specialising in GNSS resilience, radio-frequency interference detection, and space-based positioning, navigation and timing systems. Her research focuses on developing methods to detect, characterise and geolocate GNSS interference using Low Earth Orbit satellites, with the aim of supporting more robust and resilient navigation services worldwide.
She has also contributed to the science team of the HydroGNSS mission, where she developed and implemented radio-frequency interference spectrum monitoring capabilities to support the detection and characterisation of RFI affecting GNSS reflectometry, remote sensing and Earth observation applications. Her work combines signal processing, satellite-based monitoring, and FPGA-oriented implementation to help address the growing threat of GNSS jamming and interference affecting critical infrastructure, transport, environmental monitoring and space-enabled services.
The W.G.P. Lamb Award honours the legacy of physicist W.G.P. Lamb, whose scientific mentorship and technical excellence inspired generations of younger researchers. It recognises early-career individuals whose work contributes to the advancement of navigation, positioning and timing, and supports safer, more resilient and more reliable navigation systems.

Tasneem said: “Receiving the W.G.P. Lamb Award is a tremendous honour, and I am truly grateful for this recognition. To be recognised at this stage of my career, among pioneering leaders in the positioning, navigation and timing community, is incredibly meaningful to me. The proposed citation, recognising my work on pioneering GNSS interference detection and geolocation from LEO satellites, high-precision algorithms and CubeSat payloads for resilient navigation and space sustainability, reflects the impact I hope my research can continue to make.
“This award gives me even more responsibility and motivation to continue contributing to this important field. I hope this recognition will also help me inspire other young researchers, especially those working towards a safer, more resilient and more navigable world.”
