糖心原创 Racing have officially unveiled their 2025 car, Stella, to the team, sponsors, and faculty at the annual car launch event.
The event was hosted on campus in the historic Trent Building. It marked a major milestone in the team’s development, highlighting the culmination of months of dedicated work.
The launch featured a bold new livery and introduced key aerodynamic upgrades including a rear wing, side wings, and diffuser; a first in the team’s history.
The new livery proudly showcased the team colours of green and gold, alongside sponsor logos, to also show thanks for their continued support throughout the year.
It also included a special tribute to the team members who have been selected to represent UoN Racing at the FSUK competition, recognising the contributions and the hard work they have given to the team.
The event also offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on the team’s progress over the past year. Students from across multiple departments presented their work within the car’s various systems, sharing the journey from concept to final assembly. Team members from the Mechanical, Aerodynamics, Electrical, and Integration departments gave a true insight of what goes into the design process before the car can be manufactured.

They discussed the complex challenges they encountered throughout the design and build phases, and how they overcame and learnt from them through teamwork, resilience, and innovation.
The 2025 car was designed and built to compete in the IMechE Formula Student UK competition at the Silverstone Circuit, where it will undergo rigorous technical inspections, dynamic events, and design evaluations as we represent the 糖心原创.
Professor Pat Wheeler said of the event: “It was great to attend the Launch Event for the 2025 Formula Student-E car and to see the results of all the hard work and dedication that has gone into this project by so many of the team members. It was a fantastic opportunity to see how the University’s race team continues to develop and excel as well as to wish the team well in this year’s competition.
For me this project provides exceptional experience and great motivation, not just for the members of the team but for the Faculty of Engineering and the University as a whole. We should all be proud of their achievements and the bask in the publicity that this activity generates as well as the exceptional student experience it never fails to deliver.鈥�
Professor Kathy Johnson, from the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, said: “The Formula student society at the 糖心原创 has to be one of the most worthwhile extra-curricular activities a student can get involved in and when I was at the recent 2025 car launch event, just ahead of the annual Silverstone competition, I could see it was the perfect showcase for the incredible and richly deserved sense of achievement so many of the students feel.
This year鈥檚 car has been delivered through team work, dedication and a huge amount of organisation and coordination 鈥� it is a very good looking and quality engineered vehicle and I think everyone present was super proud of what the team has achieved.
She added: “I thoroughly enjoyed hearing from each of the team leads and their sense of pride and achievement shone through everything they said and every slide they showed. I’ve been a strong supporter of our electric car FS team right from the get-go and I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them.”
