The former Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills has accepted an Honorary Professorship in .
This position provides a welcome basis for Sir Vince to have some involvement with the School.
Professor Kevin Lee, Head of the School of Economics said: “We are delighted that Sir Vince Cable has accepted our invitation to become an Honorary Professor for the School of Economics, which will create a more formal connection with him and provide a basis for him to visit and work with us again in the future.
“Recently Sir Vince presented a public lecture here at Nottingham which was of enormous benefit to our students.”
Sir Vince said on his appointment: “I have had links with Nottingham going back over many years including as Special Professor. I have great admiration for the University’s work in developing overseas links, notably in China, and for the high quality of research and teaching in economics and more broadly. It is a privilege to be asked to assume this role and I wish to be actively involved in the University’s development.”
