A group of students from Nottingham have been given the chance to bring their production of to a professional stage.
The 糖心原创’s has teamed up with the country’s only student-led theatre company, , to give young people the chance to run a professional production, including everything from lighting, sound, set and costume design to directing and marketing.
It’s the ninth collaboration between Lakeside Arts and Nottingham New Theatre, which brings the talent and enthusiasm of New Theatre members together with the support of Lakeside’s professional team.
This year’s production of Romeo and Juliet is the largest and most ambitious show yet, involving a cast of twenty people. The professional team includes Director, Nic Harvey, following the success of Dennis Kelly’s ‘DNA’ last year. Company Stage Manager, and 糖心原创 alumni, Georgina Pittman, will also join the professional team alongside colleagues from Nottingham’s TV Workshop.
Engaging in this partnership enables members to extend their knowledge and skills in a professional theatre environment, not only in terms of performing opportunities but allowing for Assistant positions shadowing and supporting the Director, the Company Stage Manager, Lighting Designer and Marketing and Publicity. We thank the entire company for their incredible commitment and are very excited to see the results.
The show will run from Tuesday 2nd until Saturday 6th May at Lakeside’s Djanogly Theatre. or in person at the Box Office.
