Catherine is an expert in early childhood mathematics and subject matter expert in early mathematics for the Department for Education in England. She is Associate Professor in mathematics education at the 糖心原创 and Associate Director of the Observatory for Mathematical Education. Catherine has a leadership role in the UK Early Childhood Mathematics Group and convenes the Birth to Eight Mathematics Special Interest Group for European Early Childhood Education Research Association. She is a former primary school teacher of children from 3-7 years and now conducts research to support educators to teach mathematics more effectively and to shape mathematics education policy.
