My expertise is in International Trade, Macroeconomics, and Economic Growth. My research focuses on the effects of trade policy on innovation, growth, unemployment, and income inequality, and on the role of innovation and industrial policy in fostering growth and development. In addition, I have developed a broad research program on the origins and consequences of firms’ market power, with particular emphasis on how market power shapes incentives to innovate, long-run growth, and the dynamics of income and wealth inequality.
