Alex is an expert in the translation of works of fiction and can talk about audiovisual translation, film subtitling, dubbing, audio description, language in films and questions of accessibility for diverse audiences.
He can comment on audience reception of films and the way film entertainment is consumed in translation by audiences, for example the Oscar-winning movie Parasite in 2020 and the 'one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles'.
Alex has given media interviews for newspapers and . He has also been interviewed on radio about the translation of science fiction films, and the representation of languages in sci-fi films.
