Biography

Dr Sachiyo Ito-Jaeger is a Senior Research Fellow at the and the School of Medicine, the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

Her research spans two interconnected areas in Digital Mental Health:

(1) exploring how digital technologies can enhance the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, through co-produced interventions such as animations and design methods like Soma Design; and

(2) advancing responsible development, implementation, and evaluation of digital mental health tools, guided by Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI).

Prior to joining the BRC, Sachiyo worked on the , investigating whether co-created online animations can promote mental health literacy (i.e., understanding mental health issues, reducing stigma, increasing help-seeking efficacy) among young people.

Before joining the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´, Sachiyo worked as a post-doctoral researcher for the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development in the United States. She holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology specialising in Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology, as well as a BA in Psychology and an MA in Cognitive and Social Psychology.
