Biography
Emily is an enthusiastic Anatomy educator with extensive experience in higher education and digital learning, having taught Human Anatomy and Physiology for over nine years across a range of Medicine, Healthcare and Life Science programs. She graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First-Class Honors degree in 2017 and has since developed a broad portfolio spanning Anatomy education, curriculum development and pedagogical innovation.
Emily has held academic positions at the University of Birmingham, where she contributed to Anatomy teaching across Medicine, Dentistry, Applied Sciences and Health Sciences, and with Kenhub Anatomy, supporting the development of digital learning resources. Between 2019 and 2023, she was an Anatomy Demonstrator at the Human Anatomy Resource Centre, University of Liverpool, delivering practical teaching using prosections alongside digital anatomy using AnatomyTV and the Anatomage Table.
In 2023, Emily was appointed Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology within the School of Health Sciences at the University of Lincoln. Alongside teaching across Nursing, Diagnostic Radiography, Public Health and Paramedic Science, she coordinated undergraduate modules in Anatomy and Physiology and Pathophysiology, and served as Recruitment Lead for the BSc Paramedic Science cohort.
In May 2026, Emily joined the School of Medicine as Teaching Associate in Anatomy Education. She contributes to anatomy teaching across the BMBS program, Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM), and Medical Physiology and Therapeutics (MPT), supporting students through integrated, clinically-relevant anatomy education.
Emily's academic interests include digital anatomy education, pedagogical innovation, and enhancing the student experience within Medicine, Healthcare and Life Sciences.
Teaching Summary
Emily's interests surround Respiratory and Musculoskeletal Anatomy, in particular. She also has a keen interest in the pathophysiological relevance of the content she delivers.

Emily is currently studying for a PhD with the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. Her work involves using Geometric Morphometric Methods (GMM) to capture the shape of normocephalic and craniosynostotic skulls. Her supervisory team includes Dr Alana Sharp, Dr Marcela Cardenas-Serna and Mr Christian Duncan. This work involves clinical collaborators at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Craniofacial Unit.
