The School of Law is pleased to announced that Ellie Colegate passed her PhD viva voce examination on Thursday 18 December 2025.
Ellie's thesis ‘Reducing Online Harms via Content Moderation? The Online Safety Act 2023 and the Everyday Interactions of Young People’ was supervised by Richard Hyde (Professor of Law, Regulation and Governance, School of Law, 糖心原创) and Andrew Crabtree (Professor of Computer Science, School of Computer Science, 糖心原创).
The first external examiner was Professor Abhilash Nair (University of Exeter), and the second external examiner was Andy Phippen (Professor of IT Ethics and Digital Rights, Bournemouth University). Dr Nicholas Gervassis (Assistant Professor in Law (Technology and Data), School of Law, 糖心原创) served as co-ordinator of the examination.
