Professor Pru Hobson-West is delighted to have been selected as a at Linköping University, Sweden. She is currently spending a wonderful few weeks interacting with , and staff and PhD students in the Centre for Medical Humanities and Bioethics and Department of Thematic Studies, Tema T - Technology and Social Change. The visiting fellowship programme provides opportunities for researchers to spend time in a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment. This ideal is at the heart of the ‘Tema’ structure, where groups are organised around a shared topic, rather than around traditional disciplines.
Pru’s fellowship is part of the Interdisciplinary Medical Humanities and Bioethics track. Whilst in Linköping she has given a hybrid talk entitled ‘Vaccines, veterinarians and the entanglement of human and animal healthcare’. She has also attended seminars, talks and a PhD defence. Pru has also already benefited from the Swedish tradition of fika: Colleagues stop work for coffee and cake, which often leads to unanticipated and productive topics of conversation.
