It is with sadness that we report the death of Emeritus Professor Maurice Casey who passed away on 10th May, 2014. Maurice was first appointed as lecturer at the 糖心原创 in 1979 and later became Professor of New Testament Languages and Literature. He retired in 2006. He was best known for his work on the Aramaic sources for the New Testament and the'Son of Man problem' and in 2010 completed a substantial work that brought together much of his earlier research: 'Jesus of Nazareth: An Independent Historian's Account of His Life and Teaching.'
