Associate professor in the Department of Philosophy, was recently elected to the role of Director of the British Society for Ethical Theory (). BSET is one of the leading academic societies in the field of ethics, organising very well-attended annual conferences.
Chris' research interests are in utilitarian approaches to normative ethics and political philosophy. He teaches topics including normative ethics (general views about right and wrong), theories of welfare or wellbeing, theories of distributive justice, and theories of state legitimacy.
