Michael Lumsden Memorial Lecture

Date: Thursday 16 May
Description: Every year the Department of Philosophy hosts the prestigious Michael Lumsden Memorial Lecture. The annual event is in memory of Michael Lumsden, who graduated in Philosophy at Nottingham in 1993 and died shortly thereafter. It is the most important lecture in the department's calendar. The occasion is also used to present the year's academic prizes, including the Jim Lees prize; a prize with a value of 拢900 awarded to the best overall second year student, helping with their third year studies.

Philosophy and Theology Taster Day

Description: The aim of the day will be to give AS students an insight into studying Philosophy and/or Theology at university.

Experimental Philosophy Group workshop

Description: Nottingham PhD student James Andow is a founding member of the Experimental Philosophy Group UK and has been organising the group's fourth workshop which will be held at the University of Bristol. Registration is now open for this BIRTHA conference in which a range of speakers will be discussing the key topic and those surrounding; philosophy of mind and action
