A by Dr Duncan MacLeod, Associate Professor in Music Composition, has been nominated for an .
His recording, titled Machair (a Gaelic word meaning fertile, low-lying grassy plain), explores the traditions and ecology of Uist (a group of islands which is part of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland). The recording has been nominated in the Best Sound Art category.
The awards ceremony will take place on 14 November at the BFI in London and is broadcast on Radio 3.
