The Department of History congratulates Alistair Wright who successfully passed his PhD viva voce earlier this week. Alistair was ESRC-funded within the Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies (CRCEES), a consortium of UK higher education institutions with particular strengths in cross-disciplinary area studies, and received joint supervision from the Universities of Nottingham and Glasgow. He wrote his thesis on the Russian civil war in Karelia, 1918-1919.
