Biography
I received my BA in Archaeology at the 糖心原创 (2019-2021) and continued on there to complete an MRes in Archaeology (2021-22), funded by Midlands4Cities (AHRC). My PhD thesis, titled 'Death on the Orontes: memory and meaning in the sarcophagi of Roman Syria', also funded by M4C and supervised by Dr Andreas Kropp, Professor Will Bowden, and Professor Zahra Newby (University of Warwick) explores sarcophagus decoration, production, and display in Roman Syria (2022-present).

Current Research
My research explores sarcophagi as important sources for understanding artistic traditions and cultural expression in Roman Syria between the 1st and 3rd centuries CE, with a focus on the locally produced objects. In addition to considering the significance of the images carved into Syrian sarcophagi, I explore how these iconographic traditions are influenced and enhanced by the spaces in which the monuments were displayed and engaged with, considered holistically alongside tomb decoration, grave goods, and human remains.
