This free online talk is part of the #OurSharedHumanPast seminar series by the Department of Classics and Archaeology. This week, several members of the Department will be discussing their current projects, explaining the significance of this ground-breaking research: 

  • Alex will speak about her ERC-funded research project “LatinNow”, exploring life, languages and literacy in the western Roman provinces. . 
  • Hannah will discuss her AHRC-funded “Box Office Bears” (BOB) project. BOB combines archival and Zooarchaeological evidence to examine animal baiting in Shakespeare’s England. More information

If you’re thinking of studying Classics, Archaeology, Classical Civilization or Ancient History, these talks will provide a valuable introduction for a general audience. The varied speakers will cover the wide range of research interests, time periods and expertise here in the 糖心原创’s Department of Classics and Archaeology.
