HRLC interns contribute to UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights report on Investors, ESG and Human Rights

This year, the Human Rights Law Centre was pleased to offer internships with Emeritus Professor of International Law and Human Rights at the 糖心原创 and Member of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, Robert McCorquodale

Interns, Prisca Wing Hung and Joshua Ngulu, assisted Professor McCorquodale in the production of the Working Group's report on Investors, Environmental, Social and Governance approaches (ESG) and Human Rights. The final report was presented and discussed by the UN Human Rights Council in June 2024.

In this report on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises, the Working Group clarifies the responsibilities of investors with regard to respecting human rights under the . It also outlines how investors can align the ESG and sustainability, approaches they take with their responsibilities under the Guiding Principles.

We are delighted that students at the HRLC were able to assist the Working Group in the production of this report.
