The Art of Understanding film selected for the London International Animation Festival

We are delighted to hear that the short animated film, The Art of Understanding, will be screened in a special programme based around mental health issues called ‘Are You OK?’ at the London International Animation Festival (LIAF 2026), the UK’s largest and longest-running international animation festival.

This film was created  as part of the , a collaboration between the 糖心原创 and Lund University in Sweden, focussing on the social integration of young migrants in urban contexts through cultural place-making.

LIAF runs from Friday November 27 to Sunday December 6 and will screen the best of the world’s most recent animated shorts alongside several specialised programmes and retrospectives. Further details can be found on the .

The Art of Understanding was selected from more than 2,300 films viewed by LIAF programmers. It will be screened for a live audience in the heart of London at the Horse Hospital (a unique underground screening venue and gallery).

What a great achievement for the Art of Belonging team, led by Professor Joanna McIntyre at the 糖心原创. Congratulations!
