Action research day for Sri Lanka

Martin Cummings recently led an Action Research Day for Sri Lanka which brought together an inspiring community of educators, researchers, and policy makers to celebrate locally grounded inquiry and collaborative learning. The event saw 122 Sri Lankan participants present 91 action research projects, demonstrating the depth and commitment of action research across diverse contexts.

Participants valued the opportunity to share their work in a supportive environment and particularly appreciated the positive and encouraging feedback from international colleagues who joined from around the globe, which helped to extend dialogue beyond national boundaries. The day highlighted the power of collaborative action research to build confidence, strengthen practice, and foster global connections. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants reporting that the event left them energised and motivated to continue their work.

If any interested researchers wish to connect with the network and explore research in the Sri Lankan context, please email martin.cummings@nottingham.ac.uk.
