What’s New from Eczema Care Online.org.uk?

Eczema Care Online has already been used by over 100,000 people worldwide, with feedback highlighting how much it has helped users manage their eczema, or their child’s eczema. But with millions of people living with the condition, we know there is still more to do. That’s why earlier this year, we invited people with eczema and healthcare professionals to share their views on Eczema Care Online and tell us how we could make it more useful. 

We’re very grateful to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. Feedback has led to the following changes to expand the resources available to support people living with eczema. 

• We have translated the Eczema Care Online summary into 30 languages. The Two Treatments Used Well summaries are available to view and print from at the bottom of the home page making them easy to share. 

• New posters are available for waiting rooms to raise awareness and support self-management. Two posters are available from at the bottom of the home page: one for young people and adults living with eczema and another designed for parents of young children with eczema.  

• Free printed resources were requested by many to share directly with patients and families. You can now request: pocket-sized eczema cards or The Two Treatments Used Well A5 summary leaflets, or posters/flyers for waiting rooms and consultation spaces. 

If you’d like to receive any of these materials, please email eco@soton.ac.uk, and we’ll post them out to you free of charge. These resources are designed to complement conversations in consultations and empower patients with clear, evidence-based guidance they can take home. 

Eczema Care Online remains the only online resource proven to improve eczema outcomes. It is recommended by NICE, giving healthcare professionals confidence that the information they are sharing meets the highest standards of evidence-based care.
