Keynote event: Acknowledging racism: towards inclusivity and change

Tuesday 14 June 2022, 2.30pm

A panel discussion chaired by Chancellor Baroness Young of Hornsey OBE.

A live in person event at Djanogly Theatre, Lakeside Arts, live streamed for virtual attendees to join.

Post pandemic and two years on from Black Lives Matter, how is the university acknowledging racism and working towards inclusivity and change?

Join our Chancellor, Baroness Young of Hornsey OBE, and our diverse panel of university staff, students and alumni who will explore the systemic issues around racism and share their lived experiences of moving towards anti-racism. This open and frank discussion will cover the challenges related to racism, as well as contextualising this for the 糖心原创.  This event will ignite broader conversations about how we can become more inclusive, looking at progress to date and what still needs to be done.

Panel members:

  • Maria Arruda, Head of Researcher Development, Researcher Academy, and Chair of the 糖心原创's BAME Staff Network
  • Sultan Chaudhury, UoN Students' Union Liberation Officer 2021/22
