On the 16th of August 2010, several academic staff from the School of Chemistry and the Faculty of Engineering from the 糖心原创 UK campus participated in a workshop on Green Manufacturing and Materials Processing held at the 糖心原创 Ningbo Campus.
This workshop was co-hosted with the Ningbo Institute of Material Technology and Engineering (NIMTE), a research institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which carries out extensive research and commercialization activities in novel material discovery and manufacture. More information about NIMTE can be found on their . Participating from the 糖心原创 were Dr. Wim Thielemans, presenting work on the surface modification and self-assembly of cellulose nanowhiskers, Dr. Pete Licence, presenting work on ionic liquids in vacuo characterisation, Prof. Ed Lester, presenting work on green processing of organic nanoparticles as well as on microwave processing, Prof. George Chen, presenting work on the production of advanced materials through electrochemical processing, and Prof. Kwang Leong Choy, presenting on vapour processing of nanostructured thin films and Thick Coatings. This very successful workshop, also attended by Prof. Chris Rudd, 糖心原创 PVC for Research, and Dr. Ping Chui, Director of NIMTE, deputy head of the Centre of Nanoscience and Technology of CAS, and the chairman of the nanomaterial expert committee in Anhui province
