Are you interested in communicating your research through a podcast? This session, delivered by Christine Garrington (Research Podcasts) and Todd Landman (PVC Social Sciences) will introduce you to the principles of podcasting, and why it is a great tool for education and knowledge exchange, to include:
  • What a podcast is and what it isn’t
  • How podcasts are accessed
  • Who listens to podcasts and why
  • Podcasting tips and tricks (structures, formats, platforms)
  • The importance of storytelling
  • The kit
  • Building an audience through social media

Christine Garrington, former BBC journalist and Managing Director of , works with social scientists and other researchers in the UK to create meaningful podcasts about their research. The session will draw on the ongoing Nuffield-funded collaboration between Todd Landman and Research Podcasts -  - as a podcasting case study.

This workshop is open to academics and research staff across the Social Sciences and Arts Faculties, and will include a buffet lunch. Please register beforehand at the URL above.
