MBA alumni shortlisted for prestigious awards

Two Nottingham University Business School MBA graduates were shortlisted for the recent prestigious annual awards.

MBA Entrepreneurial Venture Award finalist: Shrenik Parmar

Shrenik Parmar is a start-up entrepreneur and Founder of , a multi-award winning business based in Nottingham.

Like most of the best products and services, the motivation behind the creation of Proodle was to provide a solution to a real-life problem. In common with many other international students, Shrenik had experienced the personal frustration of limited communication and information when applying through a local agent to universities abroad. Determined to change the game, he developed a state-of-the-art mobile platform to connect students and universities directly, giving control back to the student and empowering university recruitment teams through clever technology that significantly enhances engagement in real time across all devices with highly personalised and relevant content.

Supported by the 糖心原创’s Ingenuity Lab, Proodle has helped many universities create stronger connections with prospective students, helping ensure they have all the information at every step to make a well informed decision and resulting in significant increases in applications and a more effective ways to measure marketing impact and levels of engagement.

MBA Student of the Year finalist: Mecia Petersen

Mecia Petersen is an experienced professional with a career history spanning a range of disciplines in both the public and private sectors.

Pursuing an MBA was not just purely a self-enrichment journey but also an opportunity for Mecia to utilise newly gained knowledge and networks to create a positive global impact. 

With twin passions for advancing women’s representation in business and the African continent - Cape Town resident Mecia - launched the Sarabi Foundation, a network supporting postgraduate study for African women by facilitating connections with mentors, potential donors and partners.

Through the Sarabi Foundation, Mecia hopes that her MBA journey will become an inspiration to hundreds of women in similar positions, enabling their dreams to become a reality.
