Biography

Following a BSc in Applied Physiology Dr Hewson spent 8 yrs in Neuroscience Research in both academia and industry (Institute of Neurology, Merck, Sharp & Dohme), before moving into the field of Sensory Science, completing a PhD in 2007. Dr Hewson was Sensory Science Centre Manager at 糖心原创 before taking up the role of Ass Prof Sensory & Consumer Science in 2014. Following 5 years in the Food Industry in a global role within PepsiCo, Dr Hewson has now returned to academia, providing Sensory and Consumer Science expertise across a number of research projects.

Dr Louise Hewson is a Sensory & Consumer Scientist with over 15years experience across both academia and industry. She has gained a wide span of experience within the field including physiological influences on perception, oral processing, individual variation and consumer behaviour. In addition, she has expertise in all areas of sensory methodologies including front end innovation, qualitative and quantitative research.
