Dr Swali's main passion in teaching is to give students the grounding they need to fully understanding their future learnings and research. She is responsible for the first year module "Food Materials and Ingredients" which introduces Food Science and Nutrition students to the chemistry of food, and how processing can alter key aspects of food.

She also ensures students have the confidence they need in statistics and data handling and presentation, and introduces all students to basic lab skills required in the field.

Angie is responsible for the MSc module Food Topics, and teaches on various other undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Core Competencies and Problem Based Learning. She supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students with their project theses and NPD projects.
