Language opportunities

Are you interested in learning a new language? Or want to improve existing skills? Even if you aren't a language student, the Language Centre offers students the opportunity to learn a language as an optional module alongside their degree for credits (Interfaculty Modules). You will be joining students from around the University.

Students who do not have spare credits for optional modules can take an interfaculty language module as a fee-paying student.

Alternatively, you can also join a language module through the Nottingham Advantage Award (NAA).

Module requirements

Some modules have prerequisites that you must meet before you can take them, we review everyone's choices to make sure they comply with the programme and module regulations, and if you don't meet the requirements you may be asked to choose another module.

At capacity

The module you have selected may be full. If this is the case then we will use any information you give us about your alternative choices to allocate you to another module.

There is a clash on my timetable
The range of optional choices across our curriculum sometimes means that there are timetabling clashes with other modules, you can check your student timetable to see if this is the case for you. If you have a clash you may need to select another module.

Exceptional amendment form

The exceptional amendment module enrolment form is for students needing to request module changes for the current academic year. Students will have another opportunity to choose modules for the next academic year before teaching starts in September.
