Professor Richard Morriss is a Consultant Psychiatrist and the academic lead for the study. He has carried out extensive research into mental health including depression.

Cath is a Research Fellow and the project manager for the study. Cath oversees the administrative tasks and meets with patients at the baseline (first) interviews and follow-up appointments.

Sandra works as a clinical studies officer within the Mental Health Research Network and as part of that role is a research Associate on this study. She is currently the main point of contact for new participants and meets with them for baseline and follow up appointments.

Adele is a Research Associate for the study. Using her valuable previous NHS management skills, Adele is tasked with promoting participant recruitment, she also meets and interviews study participants.

 
Anne Garland

 Anne qualified as a mental health nurse in Nottingham in 1989. She is currently employed in the post of Nurse Consultant in Psychological Therapies in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and has been practicing Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in the NHS for the last twenty years.

She has developed clinical expertise in the delivery of cognitive therapy for depression and anxiety disorders across NHS service settings including primary care, community mental health teams, inpatient units and specialist psychotherapy services. Anne is an active researcher in the area of chronic depression and has published widely in this field. Anne is also recognised nationally and internationally as a cognitive therapy trainer and has presented cognitive therapy skills based workshops and academic papers at both a national and international level. She is currently the Local IAPT clinical advisor to the NHS East Midlands SHA.

Anne is a named applicant on the CLAHRC Specialist Mood Disorder project, as well as Diffusion Fellow. The project is a pragmatic RCT examining the effectiveness of a specialised service for the treatment of chronic and recurrent depression.

Shirley joined CLAHRC in January 2010, as Administrative Support Officer, working on CYP and Mental Health Themes.

She has had many years experience as an Administrator working for several private companies as an Office Administrator and HR Administrator, after a spell working in the retail sector. Born in Newark, Nottinghamshire, Educated at Lilley & Stone High School for Girls, she has lived and worked in and around Nottingham for over 35 years.
