Carole Mallia - Tree Dedication, 5 November 2014

Carole Mallia taught in the Department of History for over 10 years. She passed away in the summer, after a long and difficult respiratory illness. A Magnolia Soulangeana has been planted in Dr Mallia's memory in the grounds of Lenton Grove. There will be a brief ceremony of dedication at 12.15pm on Wednesday 5 November. We will assemble in the picnic area to the rear of Lenton Grove. All are welcome to attend.

In keeping with her wish, Dr Carole Mallia's book collection will be offered for free to students in the Department of History on Wednesday 5 November. The books cover all periods, from Medieval to Modern, with an emphasis on Soviet and German History. The book giveaway will take place at 2pm in the Lenton Grove atrium. Donations to the British Lung Foundation in Carole's memory will be gratefully accepted.
