Research summary
Anggriani's doctoral research explores digital twin readiness within Indonesia’s shrimp supply chain. While digital twin technology offers significant potential to enhance supply chain visibility, coordination, and decision-making, its successful adoption depends not only on technological availability but also on organisational capacity, workforce capability, and support from the wider supply chain ecosystem.
Using the Indonesian shrimp supply chain as a contextual setting, the study examines how different actors understand, prepare for, and respond to digital transformation. It focuses on the conditions shaping readiness at multiple levels of the supply chain, from upstream actors such as hatcheries and input suppliers to downstream stakeholders, such as distributors, cold storage facilities, and exporters.
The research aims to contribute to a more contextual and human-centred understanding of digital twin adoption in complex supply chains. It also provides insights for policymakers, technology providers, and industry stakeholders seeking to enable responsible and practical digital transformation in aquaculture and broader food supply systems.
